Roses and Poses

Love blooms like roses
Each have different poise and poses
That tingles its visitors' noses
When a rose opens, another closes

Life blooms like roses
Each are the same petals but differ in poses
That endears itself with their visitors' noses
When a rose opens, another closes

Author's Note

I remember writing this poem as an activity for our English subject. I was so eager to learn how to write a poem because I was thinking that, that is where I can fully convey my emotions. I was a 3rd-year High School during the time that I wrote this poem.

I had a crush during this time and I cannot help but think about her when I wrote this. I was told by my teacher to not be too direct on expressing myself in poems.

For me, this poem is about my expression of love to my crush before. As years went by, I started to realize that this is also about the dances we do in our lives. The way we move, the way we make mistakes, the way we bounce back and grab more opportunities that life has to offer.
